When you go to California, you go to Porto’s! Be prepared to line up. The store is packed which tells you how great this place is. Brought home boxes of bread back to Canada so others can try their heavenly baked goods. We dined in and had their Cuban specialty. To be honest, it’s better than the food we had in Cuba.

Portos Food, Service and Atmosphere never fails. Speedy check in and checkout for the volume of traffic this location gets (its always busy). The con for this location is the parking area. It is limited and always hard to find open space. Go check it out.

For the past 17 years I have celebrated Wiseman Day with my wife. Part of the celebration includes the Rosca. For over three decades my wife brought this celebration to life in her office. This year for the first time we chose Porto’s for this uniquely special bread. WOW! I cannot see us buying the Rosca anywhere else ever again. For us we bought a couple of mini loaves. One would have been enough for the two of us. But having two loaves meant that I didn’t have to share. For her office we purchased a more traditional circular loaf. Her office is still talking about it days later. Once again Porto’s proved themselves to be the preeminent bakery in the Valley.

Hey there. Love the desserts Cheeserolls here at Portos. I just had an issue with an overcooked Caldo De Res. I only live 8 minutes away.
As soon as I got home I ate it straight out the bowl and it was soooo bitter! Everything was overcooked. Soup tasted like it was sitting for awhile all day. They put a lime in there and perhaps that could've killed the flavor and brought on the bitterness.
Im not trying to attack Portos. Just want to bring this to their attention for future references. I had to throw it away after 3 bites after waiting 15 minutes. Thank you.

Porto’s Northridge never disappoints. The staff is friendly, the service is fast (even when the line looks long), and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The pastries are incredible, especially the cheese rolls, guava strudel, and potato balls. You can tell they take pride in quality and consistency. The café area is clean and comfortable, perfect for a quick bite or a coffee break.
