Solid heat, solid flavor, and a setup that basically guarantees your friends will steal a bite and immediately go order their own. I’ve brought multiple people here and it’s the same pattern every time... one bite of my sandwich, immediate conversion.
The outdoor space has a laid-back, bohemian vibe, and since it’s surrounded by other eateries, it’s great for groups with commitment issues. But let’s be real: everyone ends up choosing the chicken anyway.
Service is great, the MC Sandwich and tenders hit the spot, the seasoned crinkle fries are addictive, and the spicy MC sauce does exactly what it needs to do.
The only downside? You pay extra for every side. And yeah… that part hurts.

My friend told me this is very popular fried chicken place. Only two locations in LA. So we went to try it last night.
We ordered spicy and non-spicy chicken. It’s very juicy and crispy which everyone loves. But you can tell the oil has been fried for long time already. The chicken skin tastes very oily and even a little bit bitter, I have to take off all the skin for kids.
Hope the owner can change the oil, then definitely makes the fried chicken taste better.

Unfortunately it looks like shrinkflation has hit Main Chick. They recently changed the portion size on their fries, serving about 1/3-1/2 the amount. It was also unfortunate when they transitioned to serving pre-batched dipping sauces. The flavor of the Mc sauce and ranch has diminished, not nearly as fresh and tastes a little of preservatives. Still a great chicken sandwich but the quality has definitely dropped recently.

Main chick is probably the best hot fried chicken restaurants I’ve been to & this spot does it right.
I just ordered a tender and leg quarter both at medium spice with lots of mc sauce. They were both cooked perfectly, tender juicy and full of flavor. The mc sauce really adds that balance and it was an amazing lunch.
I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items. Parking is plentiful but don’t know what it’s like during peak times.

I have been here a few times, and my advice is to order online. Service is always great, food is always delicious, sauce is by far the best I have tasted from any other hot chicken restaurant.... Fries are well seasoned for my taste and are plentiful, so I never finish them... I get the 2 sliders combo, which is great for sharing the meal. Chicken is crunchy outside juicy on the inside. Breading is just right and not exaggerated. Creamy slaw is great, sweet, and at the same time that vinegary pepper tastes. In my opinion, it needs a bit more on the sandwiches, tho. Also tried the Mac and cheese, which is super good if you add on any of your meals...definitely recommend.
Update 1.25.23: Tried the dark meat sandwiches. Never again, and don't recommend them, they were nothing compared to white meat, I got chicken rinds... breaded chicken skin was not good at all
