I would strongly caution anyone considering this facility. My mother was placed here with the hope that she would be cared for with dignity and respect. Shockingly, her personal belongings went missing — never to be returned. Some of these items are not replaceable and sentimental. To have her items stolen from their own staff is the worst kind of betrayal. I’m still crying knowing I will not get those items back.
It is devastating to entrust loved ones to a place that promises compassion but delivers indifference and outright dishonesty. Families should not have to worry about whether their loved ones are safe, clean, or respected. Mother informed me she was on the floor for 1 1/2 hours after she had fallen.
Unfortunately, this facility has proven that resident well-being is not their priority.
If you are considering care for a loved one, please look elsewhere. No family should endure what ours went through.
Adam, is this how your facility is being handled?

I am a resident of Savant of Tarzana.I have been here for 4 months. We are just at the beginning of summer and the a/c is not working properly. There are also issues the a particular med tech. We had an issue that he would not give me medication that came in addressed to me. I complained about his refusing to give me a package that was addressed to me. A few days ago this same med tech was supposed to give me my 6:30 am meds.he never gave them to me and I didn’t get them until 8:00 am. This morning my 6:30 am meds were given to me at 4:45 am. My 10:30 am (I get pain med every 4 hours) pain medication was given to me at 11:00 am, 6 hours after my first dose. Nothing has been done. I was told by both the Executive Director and the Wellness Director that there is nothing they can do about it. This is pretty bad. They have an outside smoking area right next to the front door. The lobby always smells like cigarette smoke as does the elevator because the people have just finished their cigarettes and get into the elevator. I have COPD and can not be around cigarette smoke or 2nd hand smoke. They say they can’t do anything about it. I want to bring up a particular caregiver. In the past we have had a great relationship until today. He got belligerent with me earlier in the day. Late this afternoon he was caring for my roommate, bringing her dinner. I asked him if he had my dinner too. He told me no and told me to go to the dining room if I wanted to eat. I asked him if he was the caregiver for this room doesn’t that mean both of us? He told me no he was the caregiver only for my roommate and reminded me that he emptied my trash earlier. I will discuss this with the Executive Director tomorrow. He told me to go right ahead. I reminded that I pay his salary and he told me I don’t his boss does. My roommate has been here for 3 weeks. None of her belongings have been put away. I keep asking when they will be and no one will respond. This is a health hazard with an infestation of bugs and rats.

This is one of the cleanest laidback senior living centers in the are. And even with such hardworking caregivers, they make a way to give every resident their undevided attention. With management just now getting more organized in the year I been here.

This place looks nothing like the pictures. I’m sorry but the facility is extremely dirty ,no working ac for the employees or residents. The smell of some of the rooms was horrible. The employees and residents were extremely nice the only pleasant experience from Savant . But management extremely shady and highly favor their own . (Filipinos)
