After touring many of the South Bay senior living facilities, we settled on Brookdale for a number of reasons. The primary asset of Brookdale is the staff. Friendly, helpful and professional, they are the best! My mom has been here for three months and seems to enjoy the community more and more with each passing day.
Because it’s independent living, the residents are in pretty good health and enjoy each others company. Assistance is available if needed.
The food is quite good. Mom actually looks forward to meals. All the staff in the dining room greet her by name.
And activities? There are plenty of things to do each and every day. Lots of music events, history meetings, gaming and numerous Happy Hours.
If there is anything mom needs help with, someone is there to assist. They are extremely attentive.
Brookdale is a wonderful community!

Beautyful Facility!
The Staff is very professional and clean! I was blown away by how attentive they were and always had a smile on their faces. As soon as you walk in you get a breath of fresh air inside. They have a nice library section with a table and chairs. A Huge Lounge Area playing educational movies. The Dinning area is very well laid out for everyone to get by if a walker is being used. I Reccomend this facility for your loved ones!

My 90 year young father was a resident at Brookdale South Bay in Torrance before he recently passed. It was the right mix of remaining on his own, while receiving the services and watchful eye you need at that age.
Brookdale was a wonderful community that added to my father’s last years of life without being overly consuming.. The residents were nice, intelligent people who enjoyed engaging in discussion, parlor games, and social events that the community regularly hosted. The staff was helpful and focused on the well being of the residents.
The kitchen staff personally addressed each residents’ needs and requests. The food was really pretty good.
His family and he would highly recommend Brookdale for any senior who would be better served by living independently within a community.

My mother moved into Brookdale about 3 years ago when my father died. She has been very happy with the decision. Her room is large, bright and clean. She loves the food and has her grandkids join her often. She keeps busy with all of the activities and does her shopping with her friends. The other residents are very friendly. She always has friends to eat and chat with. They look out for each other.
We all love the fact that the staff does not have turnover. Lynette does an amazing job overseeing all things. Sandra and Ted are always helpful and friendly. I feel a wise choice was made with Brookdale.

My mom lived there for over two years before her passing. She really thrived at Brookdale. It was a wonderful positive experience for her and our family. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Everyone from the manager to the sales staff, receptionist, food staff and maintenance crew. They always went out of there way to please my mother and the residence there. My mom often told me how much she enjoyed being at Brookdale. And how thankful she was to everyone for their care and kindness. Brookdale kept her involved and social. I could go on and on how much I appreciate Brookdale and staff. When my moms health started to fail, they really rose to the occasion. Helping me handle what needed to be handled. They provided me with the tools and emotional support I needed. I am a classic car hobbyist who working with Brookdale put on a car show their for the residence. We did this multiple time annually. My friends and I bring about thirty cars to the event. Since my mothers passing about a year ago we have continued to put on the car show. I do this in moms memory. It is my way of showing appreciation to Brookdale and staff for all they did for my mother and me.
