I recently had the pleasure of visiting Porto's Bakery and Cafe in Northridge for the first time, having previously only enjoyed their offerings brought to me by others. The experience did not disappoint. The bakery exudes a sense of high quality, organization, and efficiency that's evident from the moment you step in. Despite the constant line, the wait time is surprisingly manageable, largely due to the well-organized system in place and the ample, friendly staff ready to assist. I was particularly impressed by how quickly the staff worked, ensuring that customers received their orders in a timely manner. This efficiency was highlighted by my own experience of ordering ahead and being in and out within just 10 minutes, while others waited longer to place their orders. The bakery's layout is impressive; it's one of their newer locations and boasts a huge space with ample seating areas. However, its popularity means that it's often crowded, with many patrons looking for a spot to sit and enjoy their pastries. Despite the bustle, there's a harmonious balance of energy and order that I would describe as controlled chaos - crowded yet incredibly organized. The ambiance of the cafe adds to the experience. Greeted by smiles, a giant nutcracker, and a beautifully lit Christmas tree upon entry, the festive atmosphere was heartwarming and inviting. In terms of parking, it can be a bit challenging, so be prepared for a short walk if you don't manage to find a spot close by. As for the pastries, every item I've tried has been delightful, with no disappointments so far.
I’ve been to the other Porto’s and this is just as good. The building is new and modern. There’s plenty of seating and parking here. The same great pastries and food in a new building!
We visited the newer much larger Porto’s in Northridge. Well organized Porto’s with ordering counters on both sides of the entrance. The food was delicious as always. It was a chilly morning so we were trying to find seating inside.
Porto's is efficient, and the long lines move quickly. I had a pork sandwich which was tasty. I took home potato balls And guava strudel and the cheese guava strudel. All very tasty. The staff is friendly. However as we were leaving, my friend held the door as people began to enter through the exit door and they did not thank her, did not make any effort to grab the door and her being so nice she held the door as four people pushed their way through the exit door. She and I felt that the people in this town are rude, pushy and grouchy. We do not come to Northridge often and it was a bit shocking and surprising as we are not accustomed to such rude people. Will not go back here again. I'm lucky there is a Porto's near where Iive.
The guys hooked it up! Told them I came down from The Bay and they said “say less!” Everything from chocolate croissants, guava, and cheese strudel, chicken empanadas, potato balls, cheese sticks , we got cookies, we got lattes , and famous fruit tart Next time, I’m sitting down and having the ropa vieja plato. Will be back, especially to this location.
